Pastor of the Latter Rain Assembly and one of the conveners of the Save Nigeria Group, Tunde Bakare, has given a no-holds-barred interview on what he knows about some of Nigeria’s leading political figures.

Speaking in the second edition of The Interview magazine, which hits the newsstand this week, Mr. Bakare revealed how President Muhammadu Buhari chose him as running mate in 2011 and the role of the-then National Leader of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), later the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, and the drama that followed.

larabe Musa, the first civilian Governor of Kaduna State has said the death of Gani Fawehinmi six years ago has left a great vacuum in the struggle for the advancement of liberties and democratic development of Nigeria.

Mr. Musa served as the first civilian Governor of Kaduna State from October 1, 1979 to December 31, 1983.

He made these remarks at the 6th Annual Memorial lecture organized by the Gani Fawehinmi Memorial Organization (GAFAMORG), held in Akure, the Ondo State capital, in commemoration of the legacies left behind by the late iconic lawyer.   

United Nations representatives and Chad Basin countries including Chad, Niger, and Cameroon met to discuss security and terrorism issues in the Lake Chad Basin area, especially Boko Haram, on Friday according to Reuters news. However, it was learned that Nigeria was not present during this meeting organized on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

Eight large barges loaded with illegally refined Automated Gas Oil (AGO), popularly called diesel, have been intercepted and impounded by Joint Task Force (JTF) soldiers under Operation Pulo Shield (OPS) in Rivers State.

The JTF also arrested two suspected oil thieves and confiscated 23 empty barges reportedly used for illegal oil transport.

The commander OPS, Maj. Gen. Alani Okunlola, showed journalists the contraband and other items located near Onne Port in Rivers State this weekend.

The National Judicial Council (NJC) has queried Olasehinde Kumuyi, the Chief Judge of Ondo State, on allegations that he issued a false electoral certificate and unlawfully swore in the state’s Deputy Governor, Lasisi Oluboyo.
